Long time no post...

So you may have noticed I haven’t blogged in awhile… well, I have, but just not here. I’ve been blogging over at http://nbnyd.blogspot.com/

Since July 1st I’ve lost close to 40 lbs now. I’ve been doing a combination of running and P90X… yes, the infomercial you see late at night. I’ll be honest, it’s tough, but as more you get into it, the more motivated you get.

I’m determined to stay healthy. I’m also eyeing up some marathons for next summer. I am in the best shape of my life and I’m improving day by day…

My wife has also lost weight as well and is looking pretty sexy if you ask me! She’s been doing the couch to 5k program and is doing fantastic, I’m proud of her.

Our diets have changed a lot too. We can eat pretty much anything from time to time but we’re really watching our portions. Sensible choices = results.

Anywho, if I don’t post on here for awhile again, check out my other blog http://nbnyd.blogspot.com/ if you want an update on me…

It's good to be brown...

Irene and I have been trying to have a baby for over a year now. There have been a few times where we thought we might be preggos, but after a the pee test that hope turned to disappoinment.

We’ve decided to move onto the next step by visiting a fertility clinic. Our first appointment is in Sept, and we’re hopeful that they can steer us in the right direction.

Today we also visited with someone from the Ministery of Ontario regarding adoption. It was actually pretty surprising and nice to hear that if we were to go that route our chances of getting a kid would be much faster than other potential parents. It would seem that First Nation parents are pretty rare in the adoption circle so Irene and I would be moved to the front of the line.

In the meantime we’d obviously rather have a child of our own, but it’s nice to know that in our situation we have a bit of an advantage thanks to my being brown. :)

Michael Jackson

Okay, finally someone has said something regarding Michael Jackson that I’d like to blog about.

If you’re an avid internet surfer like myself you’ve probably noticed a large mass of tributes to the King of Pop.

It seems eveyone loved Michael Jackson… EVERYONE!

I’ll be honest, I liked his music growing up. His music was a major influence on a lot of people. Great! Wonderful Fantastic! He rocked on the Simpsons too!

So yeah, he was talented… but growing up the way he did really fucked him up. Okay, you can’t blame just his childhood on the things that he did… or “allegedly” did… uh, fuck, disregard the kid love stuff, he was still weird.

I went off on a tangent. The thing I was originally wanting to write about is how fucked up our media and for that matter WE seem to be. A week ago if you were to ask what you thought of MJ… a lot of you would comment on “plastic” Michael… a few would comment on “gifted” Michael but I’m almost sure if it the majority would comment on how weird he is.

He dies. Now? He’s a legend.

What the hell? Why is it that whenever an awesome musical talent dies everyone appreciates his music more? Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Kurt Cobain… ugh, I’d name more but I’m still a little drunk and I’m sure you get the picture. I guess the lesson is to any musician out there who’s been around for awhile and are starting to feel unappreciated is to die.

Business question of the day

If a company loses $300 million dollars since 1996, and doesn’t have much support in the community how can it be considered to be “viaable?”

I’m a man, I’m bad… I hate my penis

You learn something new everyday...

Here’s what I learned today

  • Lesbians are lazy
  • sex was intended to be pleasurable only for man
  • childbirth pain is a punishment

These were a few key things a youtuber by the username jesusophile had to say in the following video. Check it out, it’s actually pretty funny.

Conversation at the Fertility lab
  • lab tech hands me a sheet of paper
  • tech: Here is the instructions on what to do
  • me: I'm pretty sure I know how to do it
  • a few minutes pass and I make an appointment
  • Tech: I'll let them know you're coming!
Monday

So yesterday I decided to take the morning off work. Irene and I picked up our dog, Brisco at the kennel, cleaned the house and then began to relax. Then a buddy of mine called.

I was asked if I wanted to go on a hike through the dense borial forest to find a airplane wreck. I couldn’t say no, so I took the day off. Packed up some survival gear, a few geocaching items and my gps and we were off.

Seven and a half hours later we returned home exhausted, but extreamly happy.

The end.
